Professional Experience
Dr. Desprois received her doctorate from the Clinical Psychology Program at Arizona State University in 1981. She worked as the Director of Psychology and the Adult Service Line Manager at Scottsdale Camelback Hospital from 1981-1991. She has been working at Arizona State Hospital since 1991 and is currently the Director of Treatment Planning Services. Dr. Desprois has been actively involved with the training of doctoral students and was the Training Director for the Phoenix Psychology Internship Consortium from 1999-2000 and the Training Director for the Arizona State Hospital Internship Training Program from 2000-2005. She has had a private practice since 1982 providing both clinical and forensic services. She is on the Mental Health Expert list for the Maricopa County Superior Court and provides Rule 11 Competency evaluations and consultation and evaluation related to intelligence, sanity, risk, and aggravating circumstance. Dr. Desprois provides outpatient Restoration to Competency services to defendants who are not in custody. She is also on the Mental Health Expert list for the Maricopa County Superior Court, Family Court Department, and can provide custody evaluations and function as a Family Court Adviser. She is a member of the Phoenix Police Department Critical Incident Stress Management team and provides critical incident stress debriefings to police officers who have been involved in a traumatic incident or officer-involved shooting. Dr. Desprois is licensed as a psychologist in Arizona and California.
